Sitka Coastal Table

This coffee table design is a submission to the 2023 Ideasxwood furniture design contest by TABU. Inspired by the breathtaking coastal visuals of the British Columbia wilderness, this table aims to seamlessly blend my background with modern aesthetics. The table also takes inspiration from other well-known products and architecture found in British Columbia.

Through the form and materials, the coffee table aims to celebrate the beauty of the BC coastline while representing the transition between the ocean and land. It also features mechanical elements to allow for visual interest during operation. The main component is a wave-like cabinet door allowing for storage, while a hydroponic system in the center brings greenery to the modern space.
